Now owned by Frieda Howlett, HDAS (Howlett Dalzell Accountancy Services), has had various changes to the business name and logo over the years. The practice has a long history, operating in Thames and has been trusted by locals, since 1959.
Frieda has over 20 years of experience in the company, taking over the reins in 2014 when previous owner, Geoff Dalzell decided after 50 years, more personal time was well overdue. Geoff still helps on a consultancy and sub-contractor basis, so hasn’t quite lost his interest in accountancy and the practice.
Frieda is taking her team into new places with the move to MYOB whilst continuing the honest, transparent friendly approach the company has long been known for.
Thames is in exciting stage of re-birth as a heritage destination, tourism, engineering, agriculture, aquaculture and artisans. HDAS is ready to help these businesses and also help advise you if you want to start a new business.

Frieda started with Geoff Dalzell in 1998, completing her studies via correspondence and gaining a bachelor of business in Accounting in 2008. Frieda took over as owner on 1 April 2014.
Along with her husband and daughter they enjoy the outdoors, which keeps them active.
Elizabeth (Liz)

Liz started with the practice in 2005 as the office receptionist/administrator. When the opportunity arose, she moved into an accounting role and completed her diploma in Accountancy in 2020.
One of her favourite pastimes is spending time with her grand-children, Liz also enjoys spending time at the beach.
Kim

Kim started with us at the end of 2022. She oversees the day to day running of the practice and manages all office duties.
Geoff
Subcontractor/Accountant

Geoff was the previous owner of the practice and decided to ‘semi’ retire so that he could spend more time with his wife and enjoy life out of the fast lane.
He resides in Whitianga and he and his wife enjoy going for walks with their dog and taking the boat to catch some fish or have the odd overnight excursion to the plentiful islands in the Hauraki Gulf.
Abby
Chief Filer/General Admin
Abby is new to the practice and comes in after school 2 days per week to help us with our filing and general administration of client records.
Abby is in the high school football team and enjoys outdoor recreational activities.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter provides a vital life saving service to Auckland and the Coromandel 24/7.
